Chaos Bay has been brewing award winning beers since 2010. At first, the darker stouts and porters seemed to be our wheelhouse, but we hit it out of the park with our first Belgian style ale, The Castover, which still remains a customer favorite. Through the years we have added other styles to our roster, always striving to offer excellent examples of tried and true brews. Now we have a solid collection of Chaos Bay Beers that satisfy the pallets of a diversity of beer enthusiasts. Our label art has also evolved over the years to become some of the coolest designs - and merch - around.
Night Ninja Porter
Fleet-footed and stealthy, Night Ninja Porter has several prominent dark malt qualities. Her clarity may be difficult to discern, but when held up to the light substantial character is clear; roasty, down-to-earth, hoppy, maybe even floral. But don’t get sweet on her. That aggressive blade can turn a saccharine dream into a toothache quicker than your pulse
At no time dull on her own. If she feels like socializing, chocolates, strong cheese, and fruit charcuterie are never far behind.
Style: American Porter
Alc/Vol: 6.5%
Hop Magnum IPA
Friday, 9:48 pm, a dark alley. I wait and watch. Rain coming down, pounding the street beneath a flickering light. The glamorized life of a Private Eye. Yeah, maybe I’m bitter, but me and my Hop Magnum, we balance each other out just fine.
Distinctively hoppy version of an IPA, featuring tropical fruit overtones and a brilliant bitter finish. A balanced and lush ale, Hop Magnum IPA pairs well with a fish tacos or dark chocolate.
Style: American India Pale Ale
Alc/Vol: 7.5%
Rager Red Ale
Hop in the nose with a background of malt. Deep auburn in color, this Irish Red has caramel malt notes that perfectly balance the hop bitterness. Good clarity. Finishes nice and dry. Made with traditional Irish ale yeast.
Style: Irish Red Ale
ABV: 6.5% IBU: 31.9
Mother Hefe Hefeweizen Wheat Beer
She’ll want you to believe she’s got a thick head, that she’s never heavy handed. She’ll even seem effervescent. But any perception of sweetness is due more to absence of bitterness, because hey, she knows how to swim straight in a crooked line and her history is to be respected. As the Boss Lady of the underwater gambling ring she’s known for keeping it balanced, but intense, much like the complex flavors of a traditional hefeweizen.
Mother Hefe pairs well with whatever she wants, but rumor has it she can’t say no to citrus ceviche or sweet and spicy ribs.
Style: Hefeweizen Wheat Beer
Alc/Vol: 5%
Russian Overcoat Imperial Stout
This Washington Beer Awards Gold Medal Winner pours as dark as night with a tall dense head. Rich and intense with a robust palate. Flavors of dark roasted malt, coffee, and dark chocolate followed with a faint hint of spicy citrus. Drinks smooth, finishes with a mild bitterness.
Style: Imperial Stout
ABV: 8.5% IBU: 61.3
Praetorian Pale Ale
Pouring a beautiful golden hue, this American style Pale Ale balances its floral, tropical, and citrus flavored hops with tones of toasted biscuit that give way to spicy caramel on the mid palate. Smooth, mild finish.
Style: American Pale Ale
ABV: 5.8% IBU: 32.3
Kraken Kolsch
In the depths of Puget Sound, a north-west Kraken sleeps beneath ferries on their daily routes. Every once-in-a-while she wakes and swims near the surface stirring sharp waves that dance and toss anything above. Those carbonated waters, crisp flavors, and clean finish are telltale signs of the Kraken Kolsch.
A medium-light bodied beer with a crisp carbonated mouthfeel and a remarkably complex taste. Krask Kolsch finishes with a short, subtle tart, pairing well with Bratwurst or fried cod.
Style: Kolsch
ABV: 5%
